MailMate adds E-Mail address during sending

Reported by Andreas | February 25th, 2022 @ 10:47 AM

Hi,

I may have a case, where MailMate adds an additional email address, with an assumed domain name during sending. Is this possible?

    Found this: https://freron.lighthouseapp.com/projects/58672/tickets/530-reply-w...
That is exactly the same problem I have. So this can closed I guess.

I think this issue might have been fixed. If you haven't already tried: Hold down ⌥ when clicking “Check Now” in the Software Update preferences pane to get the latest test release.

Let me know if you then still have the problem.

    Hi,

I guess not fully. If I have lastname, surname Dr. <lastname@domain.de> for example the issue is not solved. For lastname, firstname I think the issue is solved.
But it is tricky, because I could not sent a lot of testmails to a customer to try it.

Also I the "recipient Headers" in "Sent" folder as source fpor autocompletion and I find multiple entries of the customers email address, i.e.

    <lastname@domain.de> (lastnme Dr.)
    lastname, surname Dr. <lastname@domain.de>
    surname Dr., lastname <lastname@domain.de>

    and so on.

Did the customer change it by himself during the time?

    Thanks
    Andreas

If I understand correctly, you reply to a message and then the failure happens when you send?

Could you drag the email (the one you reply to) out of MailMate and then edit it in a text editor to remove sensitive information (if necessary). Then send me the result using “Help > Send Feedback” in MailMate. Then I should hopefully be able to reproduce the issue.

Yes, your correspondent might have used multiple variations of the email address and/or you have used other email clients which have reformatted them (making them part of your Sent Messages). It's not something MailMate handles very well, but it is possible to use the popup menu (after completion) to “blacklist” (bad naming) specific email addresses.
