For a hotmail account, I would expect the use of imap-mail.outlook.com and smtp-mail.outlook.com although it seems Microsoft is now recommending something different for the IMAP part. I don't think that'll work in MailMate though -- at least now with OAuth2 which is a bit unclear if supported by Microsoft at all.

But your issue might involve something else since I would expect “Open Browser Window” to work. Do you have a default browser configured on your system (see the General preferences pane in System Preferences).

the hotmail account settings were all working previously –

Default browser is configured to Safari. Clicking on “Open Browser Window” does nothing if Safari is open or closed. (the popup reappears).

I'm also having this problem, using 3 different outlook accounts (i.e. ABC@outlook.com).

When using the 'Open Browser Window' button (as in image above) I'm taken to the online outlook portal, I log in, receive the following message (see image), return to MailMate, and am prompted once again to authorise the account (back to square one with the 'Open Browser Window' pop-up.

The problem persists using Firefox as default browser.

    Thanks for any help.

(Edit: I'm also using 1.14 (5852) and Mac OS Monterey 12.01)

To @nn's last point - clicking 'Open Browser Window' does nothing for me too once I'm logged in on the web portal - it redirects you straight back to MailMate, if you log out in the web portal, clicking 'Open Browser Window' again then opens a browser window and prompts me to log in.

Just deleted MailMate and reinstalled Version 1.13.2 (5673) and outlook accounts work fine with "outlook.office365.com" and "smtp-mail.outlook.com".

Then used the in-app update function to Version 1.14 (5852) and back to the same authorisation loop described above.

P.S. thanks so much for all your work on MailMate, it's fantastic

Note that r5673 does not support OAuth2 at all for Office365 accounts and this affects what happens when using outlook.office365.com as a setting for an Outlook/Hotmail/Live account. For the test release you should use outlook.office365.com/smtp.office365.com for Office365 accounts and imap-mail.outlook.com/smtp-mail.outlook.com for Outlook/Hotmail/Live accounts. It appears Microsoft has changed the recommendation to be different for IMAP, but that makes no sense to me -- or it means they only support application specific passwords for outlook accounts (officially, I don't think they support OAuth2, but it works for me with the settings described).

In some cases, it might help to delete any tokens stored for the account(s) in Keychain Access (com.freron.MailMate.Outlook.oauth*).

You can both write me directly using “Help > Send Feedback” and send me a screenshot of the settings not working for you right now and a description of how it fails.

Outlook/Hotmail works for me now on Version 1.14 (5852) using map-mail.outlook.com/smtp-mail.outlook.com (and turning off OAuth2 and ports).

And yes, thanks for your work on Mailmate, I'm a very happy user!

@nn: It does work for me though using OAuth2, but it's probably best if you leave it as it is as long as it works. (I still need someone at Microsoft to write down how outlook.com/hotmail.com/live.com/? is supposed to work with OAuth2 -- instead of me guessing.)
