Enter key not creating newline at end of message body

I'm using an external keyboard with numeric keypad and seeing strange behavior with the keypad enter key.
When composing a message, it doesn't seem to create a newline when the cursor is at the very end of the message.
So for example when composing a new message, it won't create newlines until I type something first and then back the cursor up. I don't have this problem with the return key, only the keypad enter key.
I also had to add a keybinding for \U0003 in order to get it to open messages from the message viewer (the binding for \U000D in Standard.plist didn't seem to do it); I only mention in case that's related.

I think I am seeing a very similar problem. When I open up a new email and enable message preview and then hit return on the numerical pad MailMate becomes unresponsive and the ball starts spinning. This is 100% reproducible for me.

@arturm: Try updating to the latest beta, that will fix that bug. To do that just go to Preferences > Software Update, then old down the Option key and click "Check Now".
