I realize this is a corner case, but occasionally I end up with mailing-list threads that don't fit within the message list window. This is how I ran across the fact that when you use the "Thread" button, the resulting custom search does not allow scrolling until "Expand" is used. Is there a way I can add that "Expand" to my show thread key binding by any chance?

Hold down ⌥ when clicking “Check Now” in Software Update preferences pane to get the latest test release. It should already auto-expand search results which I think is what you want.

Hi Benny,

I apologize for being non-specific. I got the update as you described, but it does not fix the issue, because we are using different meanings of "expand". The version I was running already expanded the thread, but the "Same thread" search function leaves the search bar un-expanded, which apparently results in scrolling functionality being unavailable.

In the attached screenshots, the non-expanded search bar with expanded thread looks fine, but there are about 40 more messages below in the thread that I cannot see (though I can select them with keyboard shortcuts). After hitting the circled "expand" button on the search bar however, and switching to the "Custom Search" bar with a thread-id search, scrolling becomes possible and all is normal.
