Thread: get to last/new msg
Reported by Thomas Hanke | March 8th, 2011 @ 03:30 PM
Sorry, but it's really enerving and it may be my missing something.
Is there any way to get to new/last msgs of threads, yet?
That is, with less effort then 'right, down, right, down, right,
down, ...'
Any shortcut, could be some tiny menu entry that I am allowed to trigger.
To begin with, 'expand/fold thread' would be nice.
After trying some more: ok, ⌘-down does at least the same as 'right, down'. And holding keys works in a series. Damn, I've forgotten it about.
Still, that isn't perfect for, say, number 100 in a row. And holding the keys, I get to the last msg, not the first unread one.

Currently no explicit shortcut for jumping to last message of a thread. I'll think about it.
Jumping to first can most often be done by going to root of thread (⌃⌘R).
If looking for a new unread message then jumping to last can be done by jumping to next unread (⌥⌘⇣).
Also note that you can expand an entire thread by holding down ⌥. -

Argh, you're right about the ⌥-right shortcut and ⌥⌘-down.
Ok, then it's mostly down to me not memorizing the shortcuts yet. Plus the lack of hints to ⌥'s functions.

Btw: The use of ⌥ to expand all children works in all applications.
