New messages won't download
Reported by Rob Miller | April 22nd, 2014 @ 11:01 AM
Hello,
I didn't use MailMate over the long Easter weekend; I last used it on Friday at about 7pm.
I opened it for the first time this morning, and it won't download messages — across any of my accounts — newer than Friday 7pm.
It will synchronize fine (e.g. if I mark an email as read, or archive it, in the web-based Gmail view, I see the status of the message updated in MailMate); the only thing it won't do is download the newer messages.
This is happening across four accounts, all of them Gmail.
I've quit and restart MailMate several times and nothing changes; I've also tried to run a Synchronize on the accounts and nothing changes.
I assume something is stuck somewhere that I need to clear, but I don't know what.
Thanks!
Rob

Which revision of MailMate are you using? (See the About window.)
It might not be related to a known issue, but you can try fetching this test version.
When you look under SOURCES in the mailbox outline, are the INBOX folders then shown with a bold font?

Hi Benny,
I'm on 1.7, build 4025. I'll give 4188 a try and see if it fixes things.

I'm still having the issues with the new build, sorry.
Here's a screenshot in distortion mode that includes the Activity Viewer, in case that's helpful.

Yes, the Activity Viewer confirms that MailMate is not waiting for new messages.
Could you expand the accounts under SOURCES such that I can see the state of the mailboxes?
Also, keep the Activity Viewer open and restart MailMate. When all connections have settled down then use “Help ▸ Send Server Logs” to provide me with more data.
Thanks in advance.

Connection logs sent. Here's a screenshot of the expanded view of one of my accounts (all that would fit on the screen at one time, sorry).

I can see that I shouldn't distort the name of INBOX (fixed now), but the screenshot still shows that MailMate appears to have synchronized all mailboxes, but for some reason the INBOX is not taken into the so-called IDLE state.
(I haven't received the logs yet?)

I guess logs are still in the aether somewhere — unless MailMate is also struggling to send emails, too?
I'll send them again, from Gmail this time, just in case that was the issue.

Ah. My Gmail doesn't allow me to send the .tar.gz since it claims it contains an executable file, so that's why you didn't receive them. I've sent them via WeTransfer instead.

Although it didn't go away from quitting and restarting MailMate, it did go away after a reboot; it's now fetching mail fine. Not sure if that helps you track down the issue, but it's resolved it for me!
