Read/Unread conditions for Smart Mailboxes

Reported by Vincent Danen | January 24th, 2014 @ 04:00 AM

The Smart mailbox functionality is fantastic, but it's limited strictly to information from the email message. What I don't see is a way to show read vs unread (so like status of the message). I think that would be a nice addition to the Conditions available for criteria.

You also can't edit on the source of the message. For instance, I have three email accounts. I can have a search for a keyword, and tell it to show submailboxes on the source, but I can't say do "Keyword-Account1" as a smart mailbox or "Keyword-Account2" as another. This could be useful for say having two keywords for one source as a smart mailbox, but you don't want it to pick up any other source, and don't want to fiddle with sub mailboxes.

(The second was just something I thought of and is secondary to the read/unread conditions).

The condition named “Tags/Keywords” can be used for the read/unread state, for example,

    “Tags/Keywords” include “Seen”

    Or am I misunderstanding you?

I'm afraid I don't understand the second request.

Oops, I must have missed that "Seen" bit in there. Is there some documentation on all of the conditions that I may have missed?

For the second, I think I found it now that I poked around a bit more.

I wanted to have "All" of the folllowing are true:

    • "Tags/Keywords" include "ACTION"
    • "Source" is in "Foo"

So that I could have a smart mailbox with all "ACTION"-tagged emails only from account Foo (not all accounts). I guess it pays to poke around a little bit more.

I think you can close this as not-an-issue. Thanks and sorry for the noise.

    • State changed from “new” to “resolved”

Sorry, there is no documentation of available conditions yet.

Not sure about your second condition. It looks like you should set Foo in the Mailboxes pane of the mailbox editor and then only have 1 condition (the one with ACTION).

    Thanks for the update.
