Feature request: Single window compose

It would be nice to be able to configure a single window compose option which would allow you to choose which pane (message list or message viewer) to replace with a new compose window, or perhaps sub-pane the message window. For users who continually run fullscreen, it might offer a better user experience and prevent orphaned windows.
