  First of all: The composer in MailMate does not use an HTML editor and there are no plans to do so in the near feature.

  What kind of HTML formatting is lost in your reply?

  Note that there are no standards with regard to the formatting of HTML messages. Each email client which supports composition of HTML emails does it in a different way. If different email clients are used in an email conversation then one ends up with a mixture of quotation styles and possibly also fonts and other styles.

  (It is required by the standards that a message always includes a plain text alternative to HTML. MailMate bases its reply on this plain text alternative.)

  Hmm. I thought I finally found a good Mail.app alternative.

  If I cannot edit HTML mail (although I don't like it), I cannot use this app.

  • State changed from “new” to “bluesky”

  I changed the status to 'bluesky' which indicates that some day an HTML editor may be a feature, but it will not be soon. If it does become a feature and I update this ticket then you'll receive a notification by email.
