updated recipient email

I have a friend who has changed his email address, mailmate still holds the old one and uses it if I don't check carefully.
is the a way to delete or modify the recipent email address?
(only the correct one is in apple contacts)
e.g delete some.body@ntlworld.com - replace by some.body2026@outlook.com
possibly a feature request?
