Delete keychain settings for Outlook to allow MM access
Reported by Mark Scott | February 6th, 2025 @ 04:50 AM
I have been having trouble getting my school Outlook account configured on a new Mac. I have setup Outlook except for the connection to 2FA. I recall seeing a post which gave advice on deleting certain entries in Keychain. That worked on another computer, but I cannot find that post. How do I find the settings in Keychain to reset Outlook configurations and enable 2FA to work? Ports 993 and 587 are open with SSL checked. My other IMAP, iCloud, and gmail are working as expected. This account works in Thunderbird and online. I use MailMate because of great integration with Hookmark and all its linkable apps.

Look for items named
com.freron.MailMate.Office365.oauth-*
. In particular, if you delete the refresh token then it should trigger re-authentication.Also make sure you use a recent beta of MailMate. Let me know if it doesn't work.

Also make sure your hostnames are
outlook.office364.com
for both IMAP and SMTP. -

Outlook/Office 365 settings for MailMate 2.0 (6222 beta) work well for 2FA as follows:
outlook.office365.com for both IMAP and SMTP Server
IMAP port 993
SMTP port 587
Require SSL-selected
OAuth2-selectedThis is the latest beta as of the ticket date. Authenticator triggers as expected. I did not need to make any changes in Keychain when Outlook was setup this way.
