Multipart MIME not decoded
Reported by Alberto Molina | March 1st, 2024 @ 06:53 AM
Hello there,
I have received a multipart MIME message that MailMate can't decode. It simply shows the base64 and the MIME headers.
I can send the offending message to any address you want so you can analyze it.
Best regards.

I have more information:
With some older messages that I have happens something similar. In some cases the message is totally blank and in the other the base64 and MIME headers are shown.
This error happens after upgrading to 6024 from 5963, int this older version I had no problem with previous messages.
All of the problematic messages were created with Lotus Notes 8.5.3 (they are all from a customer with whom I have been interchanging emails for years). So, apparently, something in the multipart MIME emails created with Notes (8.5.3 at least) makes MailMate 6024 choke.
Best regards.

And more information. In version 6016 (the one marked as testing in the archives repository):
-
the old messages, that are displayed blank in 6024, are displayed properly;
-
the new messages (something is different in them), that are displayed as Base64 in 6024, are displayed as a blank message.
Version 5963 behaves the same way as 6016.
So I am sticking with 6016 for now, as it works the same way as previous versions.
In summary, we have two probably related problems:
-
Some multipart MIME messages are displayed as a blank message in all the versions until 6016, and are displayed as Base64 in 6024.
-
Some multipart MIME messages are displayed as blank messages in 6024 but work properly in all versions until 6016, included.
