Signature image being detected as an "external image"

When adding a signature with a hosted image, it is marked as "external" and hidden from display until clicking the download link.
Is there a way to mark certain domains as "safe" for automatic image loading (e.g. my self-hosted images used in email signatures), or is this intended behaviour, a new issue, or a known issue.

Actually, it auto-resolved for me:
