Q&A: Is there a way to get out of a mailbox search (i.e. thread view) by hotkey?

I am evaluating MailMate and love it's customisability! The only
problem I can't seem to solve is the ability to set a hotkey to get
out of the mailbox search. For instance, my hotkey T
is invoking showThread, but from there I can't get
back without using the mouse.
Is it possible to 'hit the cancel button' by hotkey already?

You can hit Escape to cancel or use "⌘.".
