Strange inbox behavior

Counter says I have 33 posts in my inbox, but only 17 show up. When I delete one, another new one instantly appears in it's place. Every time I delete, another one replaces it till I'm down to the original 17 it told me about.
Any cure?

Maybe you have an active search? Note that searching is a state which MailMate stays in until you close the search either using the minus button or the escape key.
