Mailbox size calculation incorrect?

Hi,
I'm testing out MailMate before deciding to whether to ditch
Mail.
I currently have 1 gmail account connected. I've got quite a bit of
email there but not "all the email in the galaxy". I'm not sure how
to see the numbers using the gmail web interface.
After leaving the sync running overnight I see the green bar on the
bottom left of the interface is about 70% full - I at first assumed
this was a progress indicator, I now understand it to be the quota
usage.
Clicking on the dropdown next to it I see that my reported Quota
usage is:
67.2% of Quota used (1376.3 GiB of 2048.0GiB)
I'm pretty certain that I do not have 1 TiB of email.
