top bar selection when in another app does not bring MM to front

I had experienced this before, and I think a later test build fixed it, but I'm seeing again that when I get notification of a new email, if I pull down from the top bar "new mail" icon and select a message, it opens up that message but does not bring MM to the front. I have to manually switch to MM, where the message is waiting for me.
