Gmail "All Mail" folder (near) continuous syncing
Reported by John Girard | October 19th, 2022 @ 07:33 PM
I recently had to readd a gmail account, and it took about a day to sync all email (slow connection + 600k messages).
I added the All Mail folder as a subscription because I want to be able to filter for flags that are NOT in the inbox, and this seemed like the only way to do so.
Now, the All Mail folder is syncing near continuously. It will occasionally "finish" for a few minutes and then start up again.. I did change sync schedule for it to hourly, but not really sure why it's taking so long to sync - would have assumed that it only checks for differences once the full download is done, and those aren't substantial hour by hour.

Having read through the gmail connection instructions it appears that (client side) subscription to All Mail IS supported, so not clear what the issue might be.
I have also played with changing the sync schedule from connected to 1 hour, and seem to have same issue.
Activity viewer shows (not surprisingly) massive fetch activity.
As a guess: seems like every time it syncs, it's pulling every single message ID and comparing to local database? Is that possible and if so is that the intended behavior?

Checking the activity viewer, it seems this might be the issue?
16:21:13 Condstore-based check (83048899 > 83048632) means fast synchronization is disabled
Guessing that that means the sync goes to full, which shows a couple of lines later
16:21:13 Performing full synchronization.
Is that the correct interpretation? And is there a way to fix this so that it doesn't sync 600k messages every time I open mailmate?
