Connection Error - Operation timed out
Reported by Scout J | June 28th, 2022 @ 11:32 PM
All of a sudden I can't send email from multiple accounts, after long spans of everything working smoothly. (I have three gmail accounts--one normal and two 'workspace' gmail accounts.) Emails drafted in MailMate are pretty instantaneously synced to my drafts folder and I can send them from the gmail website; incoming emails are also operating perfectly.
The error message for sending new messages is:
"Failed to send message Connection error (Operation timed out).
Tip: Open the Activity Viewer (⌥⌘0) before retrying.
The SMTP log file might provide additional information"
Also I don't know if 'server logs' is what would be helpful, but under that, it says (even if Activity Viewer is open): "Failed to create server logs / Note that server connections are only logged when the Activity Viewer (⌥⌘0) is open." No errors are seen in the activity viewer.
Grateful as ever for the app, and thanks for any help!

Sorry about the late response!
In order to create logs, you need to open the Activity Viewer first and then try to send a message. After this you can use “Help > Send Server Logs”. It seems though (based on the above) that MailMate simply cannot connect to the server. This indicates a network issue and not a MailMate issue since you haven't changed any settings.
If the issue persists then try updating: Hold down ⌥ when clicking “Check Now” in the Software Update preferences pane to get the latest test release.
