Are HTML named anchors supposed to work?
Reported by Joe Chellman | May 16th, 2022 @ 09:49 PM
Are HTML anchors that jump to a block somewhere in the email
message supposed to work (e.g. <a href="#blah">Jump
somewhere</a>
jumping to <a
name="blah"></a>
or <a
id="blah"></a>
)? I mainly see this in the TidBITS
emails, which don't work. I click them and nothing happens. Theirs
seem to have about:blank
prepended
(about:blank#post-57791
), which could be the problem.
Anyway, I'd like it if links like this could work.

Bumping this because the behavior hasn't changed so far in recent builds, and I'm still curious about it.

I think it used to work, but it's broken in the “new” message view. I'm not quite sure how hard it'll be to fix, but I'll take a look.

This should work better in the next update.

Thanks so much for checking into it - I'll check this out when the next test build comes out.
