Clear search and show correspondence

I often search for an email with someone and then want to see all the other emails with that person. But if I run the showCorrespondence command, it's added to the current search, which limits the results. Is there a way to run that command and clear the rest of the search?

    You can right-click the previous “search item” to find and use the “Remove” menu item. You can also just click on it while holding down the option key. Let me know if this does not answer your question.
