Linking with BusyContacts

The app BusyContacts offers the option of showing email conversations with individal contacts. This used to work with MailMate and was very useful. However it stopped working for me in 2021 (possibly around the time I upgraded to Monterrey).
BusyContacts is still connected to MailMate somehow, because it does still show current Calendar invitations in the contact records.
I've found a couple of older threads about this issue, but the suggestions in them haven't worked.
Do you have any updates on this issue? I don't want to faff around with BusyContacts if it's a no-go.
