Synchronization with server not working?

1.) I have a laptop running Mailmate 5673 (Catalina 10.15.7). I access email and read some emails from a source (e.g. amazon.com), leaving 2 unread.

2.) I use Mailmate Version 1.14 (5852) on a Mac Mini running Monterey 12.2.1 and it continues to show more unread messages from the source, more than the two, including some I know I just read on the other computer.

3) I manually sync the account on both instances of Mailmate, no effect.

4) I check with web mail on the mail server, and also with Apple Mail on Monterey, and both show only two unread messages.

How can I fix the Monterey Mailmate 1.14 to actually sync with the server? It receives new mail but does not seem to recognize when mail has been read.

Does it work if you use “Take Offline” followed by “Take Online” on the account under Sources in the mailbox list?
