Feature request: scheduled online periods

I would love to have a feature that would cause Mailmate to go online to retrieve email at fixed times per day, and the rest of the time to be offline. This would allow me avoid getting distracted by shiny new emails every time I pop into my mail to retrieve some information related to an action I need to take. I know I can do this manually by going online when I want to see new email and then going manually offline when I am done reading my email, but this is clunky and I find it hard to remember to go back offline before I go on to my next task. I would prefer that Mailmate have the discipline rather than requiring it of me!

An alternative solution could be to have a synchronize that automatically returns Mailmate to offline mode as soon as the mails have been downloaded, rather than requiring an extra step to turn new mail back off.

Thank you for this wonderful mail reader which makes my workday easier in so many ways.

    I cannot promise you anything soon, but I do have quite a lot of requests with variants of something like what you describe. Eventually, I'll look into making something which would work for everyone. If that happens then I'll update this ticket.
