Feature Request: Different message list format in widescreen view

In widescreen view the message list is formatted with the same columns as in three pane view etc.
It would be a big improvement to have it formatted differently to account for the much narrower space. Apple Mail does this quite nicely, presenting less information but still giving the option to group/sort messages by different criteria.
This is the view I used the most in Apple Mail before I abandoned it. It's worth giving up for good keyboard shortcuts, but it sure would be nice to have it back!
