Unexpected behaviour of undo move/delete message in "Unread" folder
Reported by Deleted User | October 16th, 2012 @ 05:06 AM
In Apple Mail if I go to the "All Unread" smart folder and delete or move a message incorrectly, I can hit cmd-Z to undo that action and the mail reappears in the smart folder, even though it has been read. This makes the smart folder work just like a real folder.
In MailMate if I do the same thing, the message undeletes, but because it has been marked read it never reappears in the smart folder so the "undo" action appears to have done nothing.

Interesting problem. It is a side-effect of the “do not immediately remove a message from a smart mailbox even though it no longer belongs in it” behavior. The auto-mark as unread action is not put on the undo-stack which is part of the problem, but I'm not sure it is part of the solution. I'll need to think about that.
A workaround for you may be to disable the automatic marking as unread in the Viewer preferences pane (
⌘,).
