Ability to freeze message sorting order

Hi,
As probably many people, I have a particular (multi-level) sorting order setup for the messages displayed in my folders (first by unread/read status, then by date received) and I rarely want to change it.
Would it be possible to have an ability to "freeze" a given message sorting order so as any accidental click on the column does not change that sorting order (which happens to me annoyingly often)?
