MM on Big Sur: mail accounts becoming unavailable

Running latest MM on Big Sur.

From time to time, all mail box are marked as unavailable. I am neither to take them offline and them online again. "Take offline" or "Synchronize" has no effect...this happens with all configured distinct IMAP servers. Restarting helps sometimes...also nothing in the activity viewer...known issue?
