Mailmate confuses G Suite accounts
Reported by Jon Sutton | September 12th, 2020 @ 12:40 PM
G Suite provides private domain accounts with Gmail. I have
multiple G Suite accounts. The usernames are @. However all IMAP
parameters (IMAP servers and are standard Gmail). After creating
two of these accounts, MM appears to have complete confused
information about the two accounts.
Looking at the IMAP account settings the settings for the second
account have overwritten the settings for the first account.
Looking in Mailboxes.plist I see only references to the second account. The references to second account describe mailboxes and associated rules for the first account. This makes it impossible to maintain rules on these mailboxes. Also I can no longer see mail from the first account. If I attempt to change the account user name of the only IMAP account I can see, MM initiates Oauth using the second account user name making it impossible to access mail from the original account.
Looking in the IMAP directory on disk the first account is gone (along with all of my mail). All of my mail from the first account still exists in Gmail.
How do I dig myself out of this?

I deleted the one IMAP account and references to both accounts disappeared. I have recreated the first account and it seems fine.

This problem is not reproducible in the current version. After deleting the account, I was able to recreate the both accounts and they seem fine.
I had originally created these accounts a long time ago. One of them gets virtually no email. What cause me to look into this is that rule changes I maed didn't seem to work. I Looked in the Mailboxes.plist file and found them associated with the wrong account. I found that references to one account were intermingled with the other. By deleting and creating the accounts all seems correct now. It could be there was some problem for an old version of MM that deleting and recreating the accounts resolved.
Since this is no longer reproducible, there is no reason to pursue this issue. Sorry for the noise.
