changed servers - now mailmate won't pickup mail

Moved drives from one mac mail server to a newer one. All my other mail clients that I had to dust off to experiment with pulled mail perfectly - apple mail, eM Client etc ... all work as they should and send/receive - mailmate however connects perfectly - but downloads nothing ...
what's going on?
