UTF 8 decoding adding extra white space character … sometimes
Reported by Lars | June 22nd, 2020 @ 04:00 PM
Recently, I have been copying subject lines and other meta data from MailMate to use those snippets in Sieve filter rules.
I noticed that the following line:
=?UTF-8?B?W05BU11Mb2NhbCBiYWNrdXAgLSBIRCAzIC0gU2VhZ2F0ZSBlcmZvbGdyZWljaCBhYmdlc2NobG9zc2VuIGF1ZiBhc3Rlcml4?=
should probably decode to
[NAS]Local backup - HD 3 - Seagate erfolgreich abgeschlossen auf asterix
but does currently decode to
[NAS] Local backup - HD 3 - Seagate erfolgreich abgeschlossen auf asterix
in some places (such as the subject input field when hitting reply or forward, the field in the preview pane and the field in the message list).
When I right-click and copy from the subject that is being displayed (incorrectly) in the preview pane, it copies the correct version.
I see how the extra space looks great. My human eye prefers it. But for the sieve filter it's not the same and this leads to confusing behaviour.
Can we improve this?
