Tagging and refreshing rules
Reported by Donald McMillan | January 25th, 2020 @ 10:47 AM
Hi,
I have a folder with a rule to show only untagged messaged
(triage folder).
When I add tags to messages they usually disappear, but one in
around 10 - 20 doesn't. If I bring up the tag interface again (t)
it shows the tag. Tagging other messages still works and they
disappear but it doesn't refresh these stuck ones. Adding more tags
to the stuck messages doesn't move them.
When I move to another folder and back it is fixed.
Not a huge problem, but mildly irritating to be triaging and having some 'stuck' on the queue.
Is there a shortcut key to refresh a folder?
D.

Could you check to see if this also happens with the latest test release: Hold down alt/option when clicking Check Now in the Software Update preferences pane. If it does then I'll be very interested in debugging it since it might a symptom of a more serious problem.

It seems to happen less with the update, but it just happened again.
The first one it happened with this time had the “Blocked 1 external reference. The message is marked as Not Junk. Load Once / Move to Junk” panel open on it. When I tried tagging a random newsletter that also had the banner showing it got stuck too, but others are still getting cleaned out of the UnTagged smart folder. Not definitive testing, but something to look at?Thanks,

Another issue I notice regarding this is that it doesn't clear the messages when I select more than one at a time and tag them.
Thanks,

I'd like to see how the triage-mailbox is defined. Use “Help > Send Feedback” to send me this file:
/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/MailMate/Mailboxes.plist
About the second issue: Could you rephrase this in more detail? Is this a persistent issue? (Not random.)

For the second issue it is persistent.
When I select more than one mail in the UnTagged folder and bring up the multi-tagging interface, adding a tag doesn't refresh and have the messages hidden from the folder.
I've sent a short video showing the problem (I wasn't sure how public uploading here would be) using the send feedback method. The first multi-selection doesn't update, then a couple of single tags don't work, then one works how expected.
Thanks,
D.
