Widescreen scrolling / layout issues (Catalina 10.15.1)

When using the widescreen layout, I'm unable to scroll to the bottom of email messages unless I put mailmate in full screen mode.
But when I'm in full screen mode, I can't see the top of the mailmate window.
Other layouts work properly.
