Mailmate to Devonthink Automation

Reported by annak | November 21st, 2019 @ 08:01 PM

I'm trying to think of a way to make either DevonThink import or MM export any emails sent to a specific address e.g., "dt@foo.net." The basic idea being that I could send something to that address and it would land in my Devonthink Inbox.

I'm guessing I'll end up learning AppleScript before this is over, but thought I'd ask first.

Thanks for any suggestions/ideas!

It should be fairly simple. MailMate has a “Rules” pane in its mailbox editor which exists for all mailboxes. In this case you would probably want to edit the Inbox (Mailbox > Edit Mailbox). Add a rule matching the email address and then execute the command in the DevonThink bundle (see the Bundles preferences pane). It's the “Run Command” action in the rule editor.

Caveat: I believe I have requests about adding support for the latest version of DevonThink. I haven't looked into that yet, but maybe you can help me out on that part if it doesn't work. Bundles are documented here.

You're right Benny, sorry I completely overlooked the rules section.

The bundle itself seems to work reasonably well with Devonthink 3.02, it goes straight into the global inbox and you can sort it from there. Is there something in particular I could look into?
