Beachball plus crash report

Hi there
MailMate (v1.1.3 - r5655) becomes easily very sluggish or even beach ball unresponsive. Usually this happens when I switch from another application to MailMate.
Sometimes the whole thing finishes with a crash report like today. I sent the report to Benny.
What can I do to avoid this?
