Office 365 - duo based 2-factor not working
Reported by David Askew | May 22nd, 2019 @ 02:54 PM
My company switched on 2 factor authentication with Duo for our office 365 accounts. This has caused my office 365 account to no longer be able to authenticate. Is it fair to say this setup is not supported by MailMate?

My university just decided to only allow 2 factor authentification with Duo from now on. So as of 30 minutes ago, I cannot use MailMate anymore. Are there any plans on implementing a fix?

The test releases of MailMate do support OAuth2 which means 2FA should be supported, but I don't know if something about Duo means that this isn't sufficient. Here's the latest test release: r5810.
Note: If it works in Thunderbird then I believe it should also be possible to make it work in MailMate.

Will I get that release if I turn on "Beta Builds" in the prefs?

@David: No, currently you'll have to retrieve it manually as described here.
I'm very hesitant with regard to making an automatically downloaded beta available or a public release, because I've changed a lot in the recent year. Some users do not like when a (however small) feature breaks on an update.

Hi Benny, thanks so much for getting back to me (stupidly, I didn't check back here before as I was under the impression that I would receive an email if the ticket is updated).
Using the test release version of MailMate works great!!
