key binding for 'copy address only' on the from field for current message

One of my common workflows is to use the 'from' address to lookup a customer before replying.
I'd like to add a key binding that allows me to mimic 'copy address only' for the from field on the current message.
I've had a look at the key binding selectors but can't see a match.
Is this possible or could it be?

I've found option+c / 2 (from the Commands menu)
Is there anyway of not adding the carriage return terminator (which makes more sense for a list, but means it can't be reliably pasted into a command line)?
