Infrequent but long hangs moving mail

After moving mail using a keyboard shortcut I periodically hit a hang in MailMate. It always seems to be the same stack, stuck reading from an fd.

Sample attached. I tried to grab an lsof to give a chance at narrowing down which fd is doing the read but it cleared up before I could grab the right PID; I’ll attach it next time it happens.
