Slow when adding conditions

I have a smart mailbox over multiple inboxes with ~100k mails.
When trying to add a condition like
"Any of the following are true" -> From->Address contains
"HappyHippo" and starting with an empty field before typing "H",
Mailmate goes crazy and beachballing while adding thousands of
messages in this mailbox.
