reopen last closed message

Suggestion: add an menu item to the file menu: reopen last closed message

It happened so many times lately that I was looking at a message after opening it from a smart mailbox with unread messages, closed it and a moment later need to look at it again but... I am not sure where it is since by now it has vanished from the unread list (of course). I find each message one way or the other, but it would be brilliant to have such a menu item as a shortcut. In the Opera browser, there is a menu item "Reopen last closed tab" which I use a lot and which gave me this idea.

Of course, this item would apply only to messages opened in their own windows.

    • State changed from “new” to “accepted”

A standard feature in many macOS applications is a “File ▸ Open Recent ▸ ...” menu. I guess that could be used for emails opened in separate windows (and maybe also emails opened, e.g., via the message: URL).

(A different analogy is the “History” menu in, e.g., Safari.)

Well, it is up to you whether you implement it as Open Recent or as Open Last. Either will work for me :-)
