Markup Links Inserts Extra Characters

When composing a message and adding hyperlinks with the following code, extra characters are inserted which can't be removed.
> ## [Niles Canyon Train Ride][3]
> [3]: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2018-niles-canyon-railway-general-seating-departing-from-niles-at-430-pm-registration-49795987138?aff=ebdssbdestsearch
Results in:
">Niles Canyon Train Ride

Of course, not using block quote indents, but it the link was being interpreted by the ticketing system.

I cannot reproduce this. Most likely because it depends on the location of the caret. It is related to the somewhat hackish way I try to track the scrolling location needed for the preview.
Maybe the above can help you tell me exactly what is needed to trigger it.
In any case, it shouldn't affect the actually outgoing message since the “hack” is only used for the preview.

Bummer, but yes I agree, it appears that Lighthouse's message formatting won't let me post the error in such a way that it doesn't get interpreted. If I write the link in any of the alternative markdown link formations, I don't run into the error. So there are easy workarounds to be had.
