moving signature to top after writing email content

Say I'm replying to an email, top-posting style. I write my reply, then I realize MailMate has inserted the signature at the bottom (ie below the previous email quote). If I then select "top" for the signature placement, the signature moves to the extreme top of my reply email, ie above the answer I've just been writing.
In that case, I think MailMate should move the signature right above the quote (below the answer I've been typing).
(I am aware that it would work fine if I just selected the signature placement before typing my answer, but I tend to think of the signature after writing the email itself, not before...)
