Is there a way to get new mail with a click of a button? Is there a way to get new mail more frequently?

There's “File ▸ Synchronize ▸ All Sources” and using custom key bindings you also have synchronize:, but I don't think the latter works properly in the current public release.

In any case, most IMAP accounts support IMAP IDLE which should mean that new emails arrive immediately in your INBOXes. Are you trying to synchronize other mailboxes? If not, then it might be a MailMate and/or server issue if emails do not arrive quickly.
