Behaviour when dragging email addresses between fields

Reported by David Vereschagin | December 8th, 2011 @ 03:00 PM

I like the fact that I can drag and drop recipient email addresses from one field to another, e.g. drag an address from the Cc field to the To field.

But what I don't like is the fact that the dragged address stays in the field it was dragged from. If I'm moving someone from Cc to To, their address shouldn't remain in the Cc as well. It makes no sense for someone to be a main recipient and receive a cc. Right now MailMate is doing a copy from one field to another when what is needed is a clean move.

I know I can cut and paste addresses instead, but dragging and dropping is so much easier, if it weren't for having to go back and delete addresses from their original field after they've been copied to another field.

Am I missing a setting somewhere?

No, you are not missing anything. It is not behavior by design, but simply how text fields behave by default. It requires code (and probably also non-trivial code) to make it work better.

This was fixed a long time ago, but the ticket was never updated. Sorry about that.
