Option to delete all emails in thread

I receive many emails from subscription lists. These are useful
for a quick review, but I generally want to delete all items in a
thread at once.
Mailmate does a good job of grouping the emails.. but if I select
the top entry in a thread, and delete it, I'd expect all of the
sub-entries to be deleted also.
Mailmate is the only email client that I have, that supports threading, that does NOT do this. I can't find an option to enable this.
The only "workaround" is to use the "select entire thread" option, and then delete them all. This is cumbersome, and furthermore, it does not mark all of the items as 'read', so I end up with extra 'undread' items in the trash.. okay, that may seem minor, but my OCD won't allow it!!!
