MailMate encountered the following error: “Server response: “I4 BAD Command Argument Error. 11”.”.

#1881

Hi,

I have repeatedly the error

"MailMate encountered the following error: “Server response: “I4 BAD Command Argument Error. 11”.”."

I suspect it is an imap issue (some messages I put in a folder that cannot be uploaded). But I do not know how to solve it. How can I identify these messages ?

Thanks,

Guillaume

If you enable the UID column in the message list then anything which does not have a UID has not been uploaded to the server.

The issue might be very large messages. In that case the “Size” column might also help.

If this doesn't help then I'll need you to generate some server logs (I'll provide instructions).

Thank you ! That allowed me to identify the messages that did not get uploaded. There are many of them, all in the same folder, so I suspect one or two has stuck the process and not allowed the others to be uploaded. In what order are they treated ?

I have isolated the biggest one (13,5 Mo) and put it in another folder, but I still have the error for the original folder.
I have also isolated the oldest, and that did the trick. They are not particularly big, and I suppose I could just delete them. But that is not a particularly satisfying solution :)
Can you please send me the instructions for the server logs then ?

    Best,

    Guillaume

    • Open the Activity Viewer (⌥⌘0).
    • Trigger the warning.
    • Use “Help ▸ Send Server Logs”.
