Duplicate Emails in Client

Thank you for your reply. Since I am using a small Gmail account ONLY to test MailMate and some other IMAP clients, Gmail compatibility is not an issue.

Inbox in MailMate seems to show the true situation.

I use no labels in Gmail. However "freron" and "freron/MailMate" mailing lists were automatically set up in the Mailing List folder under MAILBOXES in MailMate. Maybe these count as labels, and thus the three copies of every message from Lighthouse show up in AllMessages.

However, one non-Lighthouse message arrived in "All Messages" AND "Unread" three times today, once in Inbox, but nowhere else that I know.

"Sent Messages" count shows 4. There are abut 50. "All Messages" count yesterday count was over 4000. Today it is about 2800.

My bottom line is that I will be exploring MailMate further without worrying about the oddities and problems of Gmail and MailMate working together. I am sending these observaitons to you in case it is important in non-Gmail situations.

    First, you could have added your comments to the original ticket (#186). Just so you know.

    The best way to figure out why you see duplicate messages is to enable the “Source Mailbox” column in the messages outline. That will allow you see where each of the duplicates are located on the IMAP server. Let me know if that shows something unexpected.

    The default counts shown are for unread messages in each mailbox. You can change this for each mailbox using the context sensitive menu for a mailbox or the menu item “Mailbox ▸ Displayed Count”. Also, let me know if you think some of these counts are incorrect.
