Column view doesn't stick on View -> Columns -> Use as Default Columns
Reported by Bram Abramson | September 8th, 2017 @ 01:14 AM
I go to View -> Columns to select those I want to see in the list of messages pane for my Inbox. I quit out, then go back in. The columns displayed are back to the way they were before.
I again go to View -> Columns to select those I want to see, and then do View -> Columns -> Use as Default Columns. I quit out, then go back in. The columns displayed are again back to the way they were originally.
What am I doing wrong?
Many thanks!

You have run into a known bug which I'm taking a very long time to fix (because I need to rewrite all code related to storing mailbox columns). Using a Terminal window you can reset everything MailMate has stored about columns like this:
defaults delete com.freron.MailMate MmMailboxRelatedStates
That should give you a clean start and your changes should stick. I don't know exactly what goes wrong or how to get MailMate into this non-sticky state, but it should be fixed when I get around to making the rewrite mentioned.
