It appears I'm having the same issue as this ticket here: #1701 Error during upgrade: Read-only file system

I'm trying to take advantage of this feature here which appears to require the latest beta: #204 Feature reqest: Coloring in the message list

    I guess I should add that my mail mate is indeed in the /Applications folder.

    I'm afraid I still haven't solved problems related to having MailMate installed in a read-only location.
