Feature Request: click on links in email

Reported by Muescha | June 15th, 2017 @ 05:40 PM

where

  • in SingleMessageView and MessagePreview

expected

i like to open some links in browser without moving the mouse to the message (pre)view

1) variant a: shortcuts
- i hit a shortcut and all links becomes a letter - then i can use the letter (see at 0:30 in video here: http://vimium.github.io/)

2) as a list
opens a popup with all links and titles to select from

3) command
create a command which analyze the html content and open a list of links and titles in browser

4) open the HTML mail in browser
this maybe an unsecure option :(

I would like this, too. Just started using Vimium and really like it so far. Would be awesome to have the same functionality in MailMate - which I picked primarily for the strong keyboard support.

    • State changed from “new” to “bluesky”

This is a non-trivial addition which is probably most likely to happen if someone (or even Apple) creates a general solution for WKWebView. I would, at least, need to switch to WKWebView first (MailMate still uses the WebView class).

Note that the WebView does support ⌥-tabbing links (system feature).
